Chahinkapa Park Zoo and Carousel:
With an array of exotic animals such as tigers, bears, and leopards,
the Chahinkapa Park Zoo and Carousel will provide hours of family fun.
The zoo also features a snake exhibit, monkeys, bison, as well as a
petting zoo. The Carousel was originally constructed in 1926 and has

Bois De Sioux Golf Course: Distinguished as the only public golf course in the nation to have holes in two different states, the Bois De Sioux Golf Course has nine holes in North Dakota, and nine holes in Minnesota. With a medium-length layout, the course offers a challenging golfing experience in a gorgeous setting. (Directions) Fort Abercrombie State Historical Park: Featuring recreational facilities and a local museum, as well as the historic site, Fort Abercrombie State Historical Park is rich in history. The site has one original fort guard-house stand, three reconstructed block-houses, and a reconstructed stockade. Audiotapes are available at the museum for a walking tour of the fort site. (Directions) Wilkin County Historical Museum: With a mission "To instill a pride for one's community in every citizen, especially in our youth, by various means of publications, newspaper, documents, pictures, biographies, histories and artifacts" the Wilkin County Historical Museum collects and preserves materials that define the history of Wilkin County. (Directions) Bagg Bonanza Farm: Experience a guided tour of America's only restored Bonanza farm. The Bagg farm was created in 1886, and was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985 and to the State Historic Sites Registry in 1986. Tour restored buildings and the farm site and visit the Country Store. (Directions) The Red River begins at Wahpeton/Breckenridge and is famous in many ways. Its floods have made national news, and its waters are home to some of the the biggest catfish in the world. It flows north to Lake Winnepeg and eventually feeds the Hudson Bay and Arctic Ocean. Wahpper, The World's Largest Catfish: Wahpper is positioned next to the Red River in the city of Wahpeton and is the World's Largest Catfish. Wahpper is 12 feet tall, 40 feet in length, and weighs in at 5,000 pounds. Wahpeton is known as "The Catfish Capital of the North" and the giant catfish was constructed to highlight the excellent catfishing offered by the Red River. (Directions) St. Francis Medical Center and Healthcare Campus - This faith-based health care ministry is located in Breckenridge and was founded by the Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls in 1899. The campus sits in a beautiful environment filled with trees and traversed by rivers. Catholic Health Initiatives sponsors the ministry today. St. Francis is an organization that provides a full continuum of health care services. They promote health, healing and community through works of care and compassion "To heal as Jesus healed".
